How to Break in a Latex Mattress

Getting your new natural latex mattress from Latex for Less is exciting. If you’re like most people, you can’t wait to get the good night of sleep you know is ahead of you. Before you get started, though, there is a process for “unboxing” your new prize. The process is really simple. Here’s what you need to do.

Upon Arrival

When your new mattress arrives, you’re sure to be surprised by the size of your box. You might even think there’s no way there’s a mattress inside. Trust us. It’s in there. The first step is to remove the mattress from the box.

Be careful in cutting the box to open it that you don’t damage your mattress. Once you remove the mattress from the box, you’ll see that it is tightly rolled inside a protective plastic cover. Do not remove the cover until you have cleared out a space large enough for the mattress to fully expand as it does so incredibly fast upon being unrolled.

Once you have the mattress positioned in place to fully unfurl, remove the plastic sheeting around the mattress. Again, exercise caution when using sharp instruments to remove the plastic.

It will take a few hours for the mattress to completely decompress, but it should be ready for sleep on the night of delivery. Because natural latex is made with natural ingredients and contains no petrochemical, polyurethane, synthetic fillers, or toxic chemicals, you don’t even have to worry about airing the mattress or the room for days before sleeping on it.

Breaking in Your Latex Mattress

If you’ve never slept on a natural latex mattress before, you might find the firmness takes a little while to “break in” or get used to. In full disclosure, it isn’t about breaking the mattress in per say. That’s because natural latex is naturally resilient. Meaning you won’t create indentations in the mattress that form to your body. It’s about you getting accustomed to your new mattress, and that happens with just about any new mattress that you’re not used to sleeping on.

Natural latex is unlike other mattress materials, though. It is incredibly supportive and springy. This is something some people associate with hard or uncomfortable. But, our mattresses are a little different than traditional latex mattresses in that we have two sides that offer different firmness levels. It’s a blend between soft and firm. This means if you try the firm side, and find it to be too firm to meet your needs, you can flip your mattress to the medium side for a “softer” sleep.

We also offer you a full 120 night trial, so you have plenty of time to decide if our mattress is the right choice for you. If you’re not delighted for any reason, you can return your mattress for a full refund.

Here at LatexForLess.com, we’re as committed to your good night’s sleep as you are. Most people require only 30 days to adjust to a new mattress, and know if it’s going to work for them. Because our mattresses feature two sides, and we want you to be confident of your decision, we offer additional time.

Now all that is left is to enjoy your new latex mattress along with the incredible support it delivers night after night.
